"If you think this is another Pilates class, you will be wrong. I've taken Pilates on a mat and done a workout following a DVD. Both worked my core, but nothing else. This class on a reformer is a total body workout! I wish I had taken my measurements before I started in October, but I'm sure I've lost several inches, as well as toned my muscles. Kathy is incredibly well trained. She has learned what you should and should not do to avoid injury. She also has a very upbeat personality. This is fun, and the time flies!"

Our Style

Passport Pilates integrates both the STOTT® and the Balanced Body Pilates Methods of instruction. We have instructors certified in one or both methods and each studio has equipment from both companies.

Our Instructors

Kathy Jannino-Faino
Kathy has been a part-time fitness instructor for nine years. Certified through American Aerobic Fitness Association, she is a certified group exercise instructor with concentration on strength training, step aerobics, hi/lo aerobics, pilates mat all levels and circuit training. After a devastating year of breast cancer resulting in a mastectomy and reconstruction, her transverse abdominus (deep abdominal muscle) was cut during surgery. Left with limited range of motion and inability to perform most exercises involving her abdominals, she decided to try Pilates using an apparatus called the Reformer. The Pilates Reformer changed her life and body. She decided to return to school and become comprehensively certified in Pilates. She wanted to study under one of the best, and she did…. Zayna Gold of Boston Body in Newton, MA. Zayna’s Pilates portfolio is quite impressive as she has 27 years of Pilates training and instruction under her belt. Originally STOTT® trained, Zayna also teaches the California based Balanced Body Method. Zayna heads Balanced Body University in the northeast. Both STOTT® and Balanced Body teach the method founded by Joseph Pilates. Kathy has apprenticed in studios following both methods and has performed Pilates on all three of the top equipment suppliers; Balanced Body, Stott and Peak.

Kathy’s full-time career has been a Meeting/Event Planner and Travel Agent for many years which she enjoyed tremendously. Originally from Woburn, MA she resides in southern New Hampshire. She has two sons, 18 and 14.

Pam Saunders
Pam has a BS in education and minored in dance for two years in college. Her lifelong love of "stretching" led her to Pilates. She is certified to teach mat classes and reformer . She loves traveling, cooking, reading and walking. Her full time career is a medical assistant/office manager for a surgeon in Salem, MA. She lives in Danvers and is extremely proud of her two children, Troy a senior at Boston University and Tess a junior in high school.

Sue Percival
Sue is currently completing her Studio certification through Balanced Body University.
Experience: Sue is also a pediatric respiratory therapist with 19 years experience in critical and long-term care. Her knowledge of the heart and lung physiology is an asset to teaching the Pilates concept of the mind-body connection through centered breathing.
Philosophy: “Pilates is an ideal form of exercise at any age or fitness level. The adaptability of each exercise is what makes it so unique and effective. The benefits of exercise are paramount to living a long and happy life.”
Favorite Pilates Exercise: “The “Up Stretch” - the series of movements makes this exercise more challenging and personally it has really strengthened my shoulders, abs, and back.”
Inspiration to become a Pilates instructor: “I have always enjoyed teaching the things I am most passionate about. Pilates has been a “natural fit” for me: I enjoy the focused, fluid movements of the exercise - it is very calming to me. I’m in better shape now at age 41 than I have ever been!”
Fitness related hobbies: Sue enjoys Spinning, hiking in Hawaii with her husband and two sons, family camping trips, and taking long walks with her dog. And of course, Pilates!

Eileen McGonagle
Pilates & Balletone Instructor
Education: B.S. in physical education, Boston State College apprenticeship with Jenny Wiley Theater, Kentucky Balletone instructor training workshop
Certifications: Stott pilates - essential & intermediate mat, reformer current cpr certification YMCA certified in group fitness Philosophy: Through teaching, I can share my love and knowledge of dance, and pilates with others. I believe that exercise, in whatever form, is vital to both physical and emotional health. Along with love and happiness, what else matters. On a grander scale, always remember the greatest thing of all, is to love and be loved.
"This is not only my philosophy of exercise, but my philosophy of life."
Pilates Certification is quite costly, requires thousands of hours in workshops, observation, student teaching and self practice on a private and group basis.

Beware, some people will take a weekend course and call themselves Pilates certified. Our instructors at Passport Pilates are certified by either STOTT® or Balanced Body methods.
